“If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.”
― Oscar Wilde, The Nightingale and the Rose

Look around you and see. You’ll find a majority of people digging there eyes into their cell phones, not even bothering to nod for a reply when someone is trying to get their attention. Or you’ll find people working their asses off day and night, trying in vain to quench some amount of pressure bestowed upon by family and their own over-ambitious expectations. In dire times (yes, there is a bit too much seriousness in our lives to address it as dire times) like these, humour seems to be a good escape and remedy to these problems, to get out of the virtual world and to start “living” and not merely “faking” it for the social media. Because at the end of it all, you’ll only think of those happy memories you had with your family and friends. Those crazy acts you did with them. Those moments of chuckling after a rather cruel prank you managed to pull off with an eloquent swag.

Energy can neither be created nor destroyed; but happiness can be created as well as destroyed. So, in an attempt to spread and rather create happiness, we bring you a great chance to shed all your frustrations of life, to let go of all those perturbed memories that haunt you every single night; and just this once, forget everything for a while and let lose: Humor Fest, Mood Indigo 2015.

The great artists that are going to make this event a grand success are amongst the famous hotshots worldwide; namely our very own Vir Das, Papa CJ, Matteo Galbusera (The loser show) and lastly a dark, political satire featuring spurts of comedy, music and a whole lot of madness, Aisi Taisi Democracy.

Starting with Papa CJ, a famous stand-up comedian from India, his performance has a lot in store for you. In November 2014 he won the 'Asia's Best Stand-up Comedian' award by Top 10 Magazine in Kuala Lumpur. He has toured sell-out shows across five continents and in October 2011 he taped a Showtime USA Stand-up Comedy Special with Russell Peters in Amsterdam. In 2012 the event and entertainment industry in India gave him an award for India's Best Stand-up Comedian. Also, ‘Papa CJ: Naked’ has worked very successfully in India and internationally, at public shows, corporate shows, private events and even at an international festival where it represented India and senior dignitaries from multiple countries were present in the audience. While not swaying away from the usual technicalities of a stand-up comedy show, ‘Papa CJ Naked’ was the first time that the comedian opened up about his personal life, where laughter was abruptly interrupted by tears and Papa CJ transformed into a completely different person for his fans. So for all those diehard Papa CJ fans who want to be a part of this fantastic show, picture abhi baaki hai!

Coming up next is a solitary and frustrated man, an employee of the National Post Office, who spends his Sundays fishing. And every Sunday, while fishing on the river, this man rediscovers himself and by listening to the radio he pretends to be a successful tennis player and similarly other succesful life scenarios, making him look like a loser . Be prepared for the boss, king of the absurd Matteo Galbusera from Italy. We thank Istituto Italiano di Cultura to make this possible.

We also have “Aisi Taisi Democracy”, the coming together of three prolific talents. Stand-up comedian and social-satirist Sanjay Rajoura, writer and lyricist Varun Grover and bass player and vocalist of popular band “Indian Ocean” Rahul Ram. Expect pointed barbs at all that is weird, funny, surreal, and downright doped out in our bharat-varsh. Politically incorrect, full of personal stories of growing up in the pre-and-post liberalization era, and a no-holds-barred look at the “Idea of India” – Aisi Taisi Democracy promises to make you laugh non-stop, while raising some thought-provoking questions. The irreverent storytelling by Rajoura and Grover is interspersed with songs by Ram, along with constant banter throughout the show.

Last but not the least, we have the renowned comedian Vir Das who is all set to poison you with an overdose of laughter. One of the premier comedians of today, he appears in various comedy shows throughout the country as well as performs in his own show, Unbelivabl-ish, where he narrates stories from his life. The main feature of the show, however, is that those stories may or not be true and people from the audience get a refund for their ticket if they are able to correctly guess the sequence of the right and wrong stories! All this just shows that he is one of those performers who doesn’t convene to the conventions, rather does something interesting where he takes the show away from a straight jacketed stand up and gets the audience completely involved in it. We surely expect one hell of a performance from him.

Get ready to double over in cackling pools of humor filled journey. Life is all about eating and laughing. And trust us to take care of the latter through this fest. With those pun-ny sarcasms in one act plays and interactive workshops along with stand up comedy, you’re in for the time of your life!
